Al Ghurair Investment began a Group-wide #transformation journey in 2020 building on the 60+ year legacy and reshaping for the future. At the core of our transformation is our #Purpose – ‘Enhancing Life’; which is our commitment to facilitating meaningful and sustainable change in the communities in which we operate. From the start of this journey, our aspiration has been to build a progressive, people-oriented, value-creating organisation driven by sustainable excellence.
Underpinning our journey is a clear structure: we have defined five Strategic Pillars that outline WHAT we will do, which led us to identify a large number of business-led strategic revenue-generating initiatives and six centre-led Think Group Transformation Programmes.
We have also defined and are actively developing the #culture we believe we need to succeed that is: to be more innovative, to be less formal - instead being an open, approachable and professional organisation and to be more people oriented organisation, recognising that our people are our greatest asset. In short, the structure of our journey is clear…however, structure and logic isn’t everything - imagination and aspiration is what brings our journey to life – this is where #Vision comes in!
But, how do we define a Vision for #AGI? We began with a ‘future back’ approach. By that, we mean that we first spent time envisaging what we – collectively - want the future of Al Ghurair to be. Through a series of Vision Lab workshops, we received inputs from more than 200 of our business leaders. We took these inputs, analysed them, found commonalities and ultimately distilled them down into key themes.
From this exercise, we learned that we are proud of Al Ghurair’s legacy.
We have a passion for discovery, and we’re not afraid to push boundaries to transform.
We have built a strong reputation for being pioneers and making bold moves.
Moving forward, we cannot and will not leave these qualities behind; rather, we need to be even more innovative and bold, than we have ever been before, creating a business without boundaries.
We aspire to continuously improve, for the better – and for all. That means better for customers, better for people, better for tomorrow, better for the world and of course better for shareholders.
We also understand that it’s the small moments, the actions that we take every day, that matter - this is what will truly drive sustainable change.
From here, we were able to coin the new #Vision statement for Al Ghurair:
“Pioneers... in the pursuit of better... to enhance life, every day.”
This Vision is an important part of our Story - story that authentically builds on our pioneering past to create a better future for all.
